
Anne Judith Rafferty, DBE PC was a Lady Justice of the Court of Appeal (England and Wales) until her recent retirement on 26th July 2020. She was the chairman of the Judicial College and Vice Chairman of the Judicial Appointments Commission.
Dame Anne was called by Gray’s Inn in 1973. She took Silk in 1990, the only woman that year. She was the first woman to chair the Criminal Bar Association (1993-1995) and was the only barrister member of the Runciman Commission on Criminal Justice(1991-3) She was made a Recorder in 1991, a deputy High Court judge in 1996 and a Bencher of Gray’s Inn in 1998. In 2000 she was appointed a High Court judge in the Queen’s Bench division. From 2003-2006 she was a presiding judge of the South Eastern Circuit, the first woman.
She was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal in 2011 and served as the Deputy Chairman of the Criminal Procedure Rule Committee from 2012 to 2017. In 2014 she was appointed Chairman of the Judicial College, the body responsible for the training of judicial office holders in England and Wales and some tribunals around the United Kingdom
In November 2015 she was made Chancellor of the University of Sheffield, where she read law.
She was appointed Vice Chairman of the Judicial Appointments Commission in November 2017. The Judicial Appointments Commission is an independent commission that selects candidates for judicial office in courts and tribunals in England and Wales and for some tribunals whose jurisdiction extends to Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Professor Oluyemi Oluleke Osinbajo, SAN, GCON was born March 8 1957 in Lagos. He attended Corona Primary School Lagos. Between 1969- 1975, he attended Igbobi College, Yaba where he was the winner of the State Merit Award (1971); the School Prize for English Oratory (1972); Adeoba Prize for English Oratory (1972-1975); Elias Prize for Best Performance in History (WASC, 1973); School Prize for Literature (HSC, 1975); and African Statesman Intercollegiate Best Speaker’s Prize (1974).
Thereafter, he studied for his undergraduate degree at the University of Lagos between 1975-1978 when he obtained a Second Class Upper Degree in Law. Here, he also won the Graham-Douglas Prize for Commercial Law. In 1979, he completed the mandatory one-year professional training at the Nigerian Law School whereon he was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of Nigeria's Supreme Court. In 1980, he attended the London School of Economics & Political Science, where he obtained a Master of Laws degree. An accomplished scholar, teacher, lawyer and administrator, he is one of the nation’s leading experts on the Law of Evidence, National and Regional Corporate Commercial Laws and Public Law.
Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON began his career as a lecturer at the University of Lagos in 1981, From 1988–1992, he was appointed as an Adviser (Legal Advice and Litigation), to the then Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Bola Ajibola, KBE. In 1994, he became a professor of Law and was appointed the Head of Department of Public Law, University of Lagos. In 199, he was appointed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Lagos state, a position he held till 2007. From 2007 to 2013 Osinbajo was once again employed as a Professor of Law, Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, University of Lagos. He was also a Senior lecturer at the Lagos State University. In 2207, he became the Senior Partner, Simmons Cooper Partner.
On 17 December 2014, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), retired General Buhari announced Professor Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate and vice-presidential candidate for the 2015 General Election. Three months later, on the 31st March 2015, General Buhari was returned by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the presidential election. Thus, Professor Yemi Osinbajo became the vice president-elect of Nigeria. They were both sworn in on the 29th of May 2015. On the 29th of May 2019, Professor Yemi Osinbajo took his oath of office to begin his second term as the vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, after winning the 2019 presidential election.

Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan is a Nigerian senator who serves as the President of the Senate of Nigeria representing Yobe North Constituency of Yobe State under the All Progressive Congress (APC). His tenure as a senator started since 2007 Nigeria general election.`{`1`}` In 2019, he emerged the new Senate President of the 9th National Assembly.
Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan was a lecturer with a Federal University of Maiduguri, Borno North-Eastern state and a politician and senator now the president of the Nigerian senate. He holds a bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Maiduguri in 1984, a master's degree in Remote Sensing from the Ahmadu Bello University and a Doctorate degree in Remote Sensing/GIS from Cranfield University, UK, in 1990 and 1996 respectively.
Elected to the House of Representatives for the northern state of Yobe in 1999, at different times Lawan chaired the House Committees on education and agriculture. Senator Lawan was elected to the Senate in 2007. In 2008, he was a member of the National Assembly's Joint Committee on Constitution Review. In 2009, as chairman of the Senate committee on Public Accounts, Senator Lawan initiated and sponsored the Desertification Control Commission Bill.

Rt. Hon. Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila is a Nigerian lawyer and Speaker of Nigeria's 9th House of Representatives. He was born on 25 June 1962 to Lateef Gbajabiamila and Olufunke Gbajabiamila in Lagos Nigeria. He attended Mainland Preparatory School for elementary education and Igbobi College in 1973 for secondary education. Subsequently he enrolled at King William's College on the Isle of Man, United Kingdom for his A-Level. He was accepted into the University of Lagos Nigeria. He graduated from Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) with honors in 1983 and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1984.
He first worked for the law firm, Bentley Edu & Co., in Lagos, and then established his own law firm, Femi Gbaja & Co. He then earned his Juris Doctor from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School in Georgia, USA, passed the Georgian bar exam in 2001, and set up a law firm in Atlanta While in the USA, he actively participated in the election of Bill Campbell who later went on to become Mayor of Atlanta.
Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila was elected to the House in 2003, and re-elected in 2007, 2015 and 2019. He represents the Surulere 1 constituency of Lagos state in the House of Representatives.

Hon. Mr Justice I. T. Muhammad, CFR was born on the 31st December 1953. He hails from Doguwa, Giade Local Government of Bauchi State. He attended primary school at Giade Primary School from 1961 to 1968. He proceeded to Government Secondary School, Azare from the year 1969 to 1973. His Lordship then proceeded to Abdullahi Bayero University College, Kano for his IJMB from 1975 to 1976. After a successful completion of his course, His Lordship got admission to read Law at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1976 to 1980. He attended Nigerian Law School from 1980 to 1981. In furtherance of his educational career, His Lordship went back to the prestigious ABU, Zaria for his Masters Degree in Law (LLM) on part-time basis, from 1982 to 1984. In order to update himself in the field of Law, His Lordship went back to ABU, Zaria in 1987 to 1998 and obtained his Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Law, also on part-time basis.
Hon. Justice I. T. Muhammad, CFR was appointed as Magistrate Grade II in 1982 to 1984 with Bauchi State Judiciary. He rose to Senior Magistrate Grade II from 1984 to 1986. His Lordship was appointed as the Provost, College of Legal and Islamic Studies, Bauchi from 1986 to 1989. He was appointed Chief Magistrate/Deputy Chief Registrar, High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja from 1990 to 1991. From 1991 to 1993, he was appointed as Kadi (Judge) of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Bauchi State. His Lordship was elevated to the position of Justice of the Court of Appeal from 1993 to 2006. His Lordship was appointed as Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in the year 2006 and was sworn in on the 8th of January 2007, the appointment he holds till date.

Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah was born at Toase in the Ashanti Region in May 1953. He attended Amaniampong Secondary School and Apam Secondary School and then moved to the University of Ghana and the Ghana School of Law, where he graduated in 1981.
He served as an Assistant State Attorney at the Attorney General’s Office in Koforidua, where he was elected the Eastern Regional President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).
He also served as a justice of the High Court between 2002 and 2003 and the Court of Appeal from 2003 to 2008.
Justice Anin Yeboah was also the Chairman of the Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association from 2004 to 2008 and rose to become a member of the Adjudicatory Chamber of FIFA.
In May 2017, he was appointed Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the 67th FIFA Congress in Bahrain and was also Chairman of the FIFA Ethics Committee.
Former President Kufuor appointed Justice Anin Yeboah to the Supreme Court in June 2008.
In addition to his work as a Justice of the Supreme Court, he also served as a Part-Time Lecturer at the Ghana School of Law where he taught civil procedure and Ghana Legal System. Justice Anin-Yeaboah's Legal experience includes writing judgment in constitutional matters, civil and criminal cases. Also, providing opinions on legal matters in the West African nation.
The Chief Justice is currently the Chairman of the Legal Aid Board and Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Council of Ghana.

Prof Patrick Lumumba is an eloquent Kenyan legal practitioner and an advocate of the High Courts of Kenya and Tanzania. He received his LL.B and LL.M Degrees in Law at the University of Nairobi and his PhD in the Laws of the Sea from the University of Ghent in Belgium.
He was a student leader, who served in the Law Society of Kenya and received recognition by the Law Society of Kenya and the International Commission of Jurists (Kenya Chapter) as a member in good standing.
He is recognised by his peers as a leading litigator in Constitutional Law and Judicial Review Cases. He has received many prestigious awards from local and internationally renowned organisations and institutions.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya FCPS (K) a Member of the Kenya Institute of Management and a Certified Mediator. Lumumba was the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya School of Law until 2017.
He is an Associate Professor of Public Law and Founding Dean, Kabarak University School of Law. He is a former Secretary of the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission and former Director of the defunct Kenya Anti- Corruption Commission (KACC): Now Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
He is the Founding Trustee of the African Institute for Leaders and Leadership and founding Chairman of the Association of the Citizens Against Corruption. In 2001, he was appointed to serve in the National Committee on Implementation of International Humanitarian Law.
A pan Africanist who is passionate about promoting equal rights, good governance and African unity, Lumumba believes that shifting the centre of gravity to allow Africa own and define its agenda is critical. A firm proponent in advancing the African identity, Lumumba believes that the future of Africa lies in good leadership and in the hands of its people who must grow their confidence and self-belief and become increasingly self- reliant.
His influence on African politics and international political culture is undeniable advancing belief that African politics should accommodate divergent views and voices. His depth of knowledge, pan Africanism and that he is a proponent of good governance is undeniable from his numerous speeches condemning the rot in Kenya and Africa in general.

Mr Abubakar Malami, SAN, was born on April 17, 1967 in Birnin-Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State in the North – West geopolitical zone. Mr Malami had his primary school education at the Nassarawa Primary School, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, and his secondary school education at the College of Arts and Arabic Studies, Sokoto. He proceeded to the prestigious Usmanu Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, Sokoto State in 1991 where he obtained his Bachelor of Law Degree with honours, following which he was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1992 having satisfactorily passed his Bar Examinations at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. His unflinching quest and thirst for knowledge coupled with his preparedness for public governance and affairs prompted him to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Administration at the University of Maiduguri where he also came out in flying colours.
Upon his Call to the Nigerian Bar, Mr Abubakar Malami did not waste any time in acquainting himself with the profession as was evidenced in the manners in which he was always engrossed in legal research with a view to rendering bespoke legal services to his clients, and other poor, needy and indigent Nigerians. Prior to his appointment as Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami was a highly sought after and a go–to–lawyer due to his erudition, intellectual acumen, tact, dynamism, deep legal experience, advocacy and mastery of the law, all of which he had demonstrated while handling diverse complex and complicated civil, criminal and commercial litigations. Hon. Mr Justice Amina Adamu Augie was born Anne Eva Graham on the 3rd day of September 1953. She is from Kebbi State, in the North-Western part of Nigeria. She attended Abadina School, University College Ibadan from 1958 - 1960. Hope Waddell Primary School, Calabar from 1960 - 1962. Holy Rosary Primary School, Enugu from 1966 - 1967. Queen Amina College, Kaduna from 1968 - 1971. University of Ife, Ile-Ife from 1972 - 1977. Nigerian Law School, Lagos from 1977 - 1978. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1980 - 1981. University of Lagos from 1986 - 1987. She was called to the Nigerian Bar on 8th July 1978.
Hon. Justice Amina Adamu Augie began her legal career as a Legal Aid Counsel at the Legal Aid Council, Sokoto while serving in the National Youth Service Corps from 1978 - 1979. She rose to become the Head of Department of Legal Aid Council, Sokoto State. From 1980 - 1982, she had a stint with the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria as an Assistant Lecturer. From 1982 - 1984, she served as a Senior State Counsel in the Office of the Chief Counsel to the then President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, after which, she was appointed Lecturer by the Nigerian Law School, Lagos.
In 1988, Hon. Justice Amina Adamu Augie was appointed Chief Magistrate in the Sokoto State Judiciary. While serving at the Bench, her love and passion for the academia propelled her to accept a part-time employment as Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Uthman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto from 1989 - 1992. She also served as an Associate Lecturer in the same University from September 1999 - September 2002. Hon. Justice Augie was elevated to the Court of Appeal Bench in 2002. While at the Appellate Court, she served in various Divisions and rose to become Presiding Justice, Benin Division from July 2009 - September 2010; Presiding Justice, Enugu Division from September 2010 - September 2011; Presiding Justice, Kaduna Division from September 2011 - September 2012; Presiding Justice, Lagos Division from September 2012 - November 2016.
Hon. Justice Amina Adamu Augie was elevated as Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the 7th of November 2016.

Hon Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban-Mensem was born on 13th June 1957, to the family of M.B. Douglas-Mensem; a retired Appeal Court Justice. She hails from Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State. She got both her LL.B and LL.M degrees from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
She was a Visiting Lecturer on Press Law at the Catholic Media Centre, Kaduna from 1988-1992 and Part-time Lecturer at the University of Jos between 1989 and 1997. From 1990-1993, Justice Dongban-Mensem served as Deputy Chief Registrar, Superior Courts and Protocol Affairs, and was appointed Judge, High Court of Justice, Plateau Judiciary from 1993-1996.
Hon Justice Dongban-Mensem transferred her service to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Judiciary in 1997, where she served until she was elevated to the Court of Appeal in 2003. She was sworn-in as the President, Court of Appeal, on 19th June 2020, by the Chief Justice of Nigeria. Until her recent elevation, Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem was the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, and Life Member of Body of Benchers.

Professor Konyinsola Ajayi, SAN is the Managing Partner at Olaniwun Ajayi. He is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, with over 35 years of legal practice experience and he is a member of various domestic and international associations such as the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, the English and the Nigerian Bar Association.

Professor Ajayi admitted to practice in both the Nigerian Bar and the English Bar (Middle Temple) and he is a Fellow of the Society of Advanced Legal Studies, England.
Professor Konyinsola Ajayi, SAN is a seasoned arbitrator and has authored over 150 academic articles and he is a Fellow, Society of Advanced Legal Studies, England.

Professor Ayodele Atsenuwa born in July 2014. She holds the LL.M. degree in Law and Development from University of Warwick and another LL.M. degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from University of London. She is a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Her work experience spans research and teaching at the university level, programming for human rights and development as well as NGO management. A Professor of Law at the University of Lagos, her fields of research and teaching interest are Human Rights, Criminal Justice, Gender Studies and Health Law.
Professor Atsenuwa has been an adjunct Professor on the collaborative LL.M. Programme in Human Rights and Development in Africa of the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria since 2012. She has also been involved with Legal Research and Resource Development Centre, a Nigerian human rights non-governmental organisation, since 1995 and served as its Executive Director for many years.
A strong advocate of law reform for development, she has consulted for the federal and state governments as well as various international and national organisations including UNDP, UNIFEM (now UNWomen), UNODC, UNOHCHR Ford Foundation, DFID, USAID and CIDA on projects aimed at promote human rights including gender rights and development. In addition to her academic teaching and research, Professor Atsenuwa has numerous international and international publications to her credit and is much sought after as professional enhancement and capacity development trainer.
